Rita K. (Carroll) Mudd

Rita K. (Carroll) Mudd, 74, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Rita was a loving mom, granny Rita, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a die hard UK fan and loved playing pool where she bartended for many years. She was a former employee who retired from Louisville Ladder after many years of faithful service. Rita will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was born on September 7, 1947 in Leitchfield, Kentucky to Woodrow and Iris (King) Carroll. She is preceded in death by her Father, Woodrow Wilson Carroll, Mother, Iris Reeta Moore, and brothers, George William Carroll and Robert "Bobby" Carroll.

Rita is survived by her loving family, Children, Deanna Sims, Hubert Scott Mudd, and James "Jimmie" Mudd; Grandchildren, William "BJ" (Lindsay) Cornett, III, Carolyn (Joseph) Joslin, Hubert Scott (Amie) Mudd, Jr., Jessica Mudd, Rae Rae Mudd, Brian Scott, and Kurtis (Alli) Kerr; Great-Grandchildren, Abigail (Stephen) Luoma, Aubree Wilson, Samara Cornett, Madysen Joslin, Jackson Joslin, Samuel Gaddis, William "Liam" Cornett, IV, Brantley Joslin, Hannah Mudd, Addelyn "Addy" Mudd, Emma Kerr, Jackson Kerr, and Jude Kerr as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
