Rita Kathern (Byrns) Wright, 66, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on March 14, 2016. She was born on April 9, 1949, in Corydon, Indiana, to Charles and Anna (Briles) Byrns. Rita worked for a catering company for many years and was a great homemaker. She attended church at Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany, Indiana. Rita enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wright, brother, Randy Byrns. She is survived by her loving son, James Proffitt (Tracy), sisters; Carolyn King, Jackie Byrns, and Lori Helton, 4 grandchildren; Casey, Josh, Brittney, Cody, 2 great-grandchildren; Tara, and Bobbi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016, from 3 to 7 PM with her service to follow at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
