Rita Carol Yankey Barnes, 64, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015. She was born August 28, 1950, in Springfield, KY to Juanita Begley Wilson and the late Howard Franklin Yankey.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Barnes, and her mother and step-father, James and Juanita Wilson. Additional survivors include sisters, Connie Yankey Austin (Clyde) and Stacey Wilson Rivera; brother, James Terry Yankey (Suzy); and stepson, Willy Barnes (Tracy).
Rita attended Washington County High School and worked for the Cabinet of Human Resources for many years. She was a past member of Springfield Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy) with visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service.
