Rilda "Paulette" (Myers) Cox, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 58.

Paulette will always be remembered by those who loved her for her generous heart and unwavering devotion to family. Renowned for her selflessness, Paulette was someone who would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She fiercely loved her family and was especially devoted to her 38 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, taking profound joy in every moment spent with them.

Paulette found happiness in following her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, cheering them on through countless seasons. She was also a faithful fan of The Bold and the Beautiful, never missing an episode of her favorite soap opera. Collecting angels and dolphins brought a special comfort to her life, symbolic perhaps of the gentle spirit and vibrant energy she shared with all who knew her.

Paulette’s legacy carries on through her husband, Jeffery Cox, and her children: Tiffany Juarez (Eleazar), Jackie Cox (Shannon Alford), Gregory Cox (Raven), Jamie-Kay Cox (Juanita), Jeffery Cox II (Brooke), Leigha Cox, and Jeffery James Cox. Her circle of love extended to her dear friend Beth Campbell and her siblings Cindy Wilson (Chip), Robin Putnam, and Romie Lee Putnam.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta and William Davison, and her sisters Teresa Peterson and Pearl Lou Putnam.

Those who had the honor of knowing Paulette will continue to carry her spirit with them—a spirit marked by kindness, generosity, and enduring love. Her memory will be treasured by her family and friends, each touched by her warmth, devotion, and the many ways she made everyday life brighter.

Paulette's wish was to be cremated and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with her care. A celebration of her life will be announced in the coming days.
