It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ricky De-Loss Cecil, Sr, who departed this life on August 13, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on November 15, 1973, Ricky led a life marked by dedication, passion, and a remarkable sense of humor that endeared him to many.
Ricky was a man committed to his career, taking great pride in his work and exemplifying a strong work ethic throughout his life. His dedication extended beyond professional pursuits; he was a Marine veteran. This experience enriched his character, shaping him into the devoted family man he became, whose loved ones were always his priority.
A multifaceted individual, Ricky had an array of interests that brought him joy. He was a big-time gamer, spending countless hours immersed in gaming worlds and sharing these moments with friends. His enthusiasm for technology was evident in his ability to build and maintain gaming PCs, showcasing his resourcefulness and passion for the craft. Whether engaging in spirited gaming sessions or simply enjoying casual smoke breaks and breathing treatments with his almost BFF, Ricky was known for his infectious laughter and light-hearted approach to life.
Ricky's most cherished accomplishment was his unwavering devotion to his family. Time spent with them was a treasure for him, reflecting the depth of his love and commitment. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky De-Loss Cecil, Jr. and his mother, Shelia Kay Cecil.
Ricky is survived by his daughters, Layla Cecil and Brenda (Adan) Arevalo; grandchildren, Brent "Baby Boy" and Alayna "Spawn" and his brother, Michael (Tydonya) Cecil.
Visitation services will be held on August 22, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM, both taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272.
