Rickie Purvis, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Rickie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and loved spending time with his family. Rickie was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was born on October 14, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky to Cecil and Sylvia (Holland) Purvis. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Sister, Schela Sutton, and Brother-in-Law, Granger Owens.
Rickie is survived by his loving Wife of 48 years, Sharon Purvis, Son, Travis (Sherri) Purvis, Daughter, Nina (Glen Green) Keeling, Son, Lance Purvis, Grandchildren, Jonathan (Brooklynn Smith) Purvis, Emily Purvis, Aaron Purvis, McKenzie Purvis, Joshua Purvis, James Keeling, and Kevan Keeling, Siblings, Nicky (Kathy) Purvis, Janice Owens, Norman Purvis, and Dennis Purvis.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 4:30 pm until 8:00 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home- Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
