Richard Lee Walker

Richard Lee Walker, 61, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020. He had a love for Bluegrass music and was a talented banjo picker. Rick also enjoyed cooking, painting, and creating comics. Christmas was his favorite time of the year, and he always had plenty of holiday spirit to share with others.

He was born on December 14, 1958, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, to the late William and Anna (Newton) Walker. Rick is survived by his wife of almost 34 years, Allison (Day) Walker; daughters, Rachel and Rebecca Walker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Laura Wheeler, Ricky Day, Kelly Heavrin (Greg), and Jeffrey Day; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cremation was chosen following Rick's wishes, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Floyd County Animal Rescue League (215 W. Market, Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
