Richard Saunders, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 with love all around. Richard loved spending time with his family and his cruise friends. He enjoyed square dancing and eating at Cracker Barrel. He was the owner and operator of Whiz-Air. He was know as "Whiz" across the country. He shared his love for the Air Force with his nephews who followed in his steps in service to our country.
He was born on September 25, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to Richard and Virginia (Aebersold) Saunders. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Judson Saunders, Sr., mother, Virginia Ruth Campbell, and sister, Virginia Ruth Kelly.
Richard is survived by his loving Wife of 27 years, Debbie Lynn Betzer; children, Nita (Gary) Isgrigg, Doug Betzer, and Dustin Betzer; granddaughter, Jordyn Isgrigg; brother, Michael Perry Saunders; special cruise friends, Dean (Shelia) Hardy. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever. The family would like to give a special thank you to Jackie and Dave Noble for their love and care over the years.
