Richard Joseph "Joey" Rake

Richard Joseph "Joey" Rake, 63, of Fisherville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

Joey was born on May 27, 1963 in New Albany, Indiana. He enjoyed a career spanning 28 years at Ford Motor Company – Kentucky Truck Plant, where his strong work ethic, reliability, and friendships with colleagues made a lasting impact on those around him.

Away from his professional life, Joey was an avid hunter who cherished time spent in the great outdoors. His love for adventure extended to the golf course and the open woods, where he found relaxation and joy in golfing, four wheeling, and grilling for friends and family.

Joey’s memory will be forever treasured by his loving wife, Angela "Michelle" (Richardson) Rake, and his beloved daughter, Jaena Rake. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Deborah Rake; nieces and nephew, Peyton, Karly and Lakyn; and his caring father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil and Patricia Richardson. Joey was preceded in death by his father, Richard Rake, and mother, Barbara (Wimp) Rake, and is now walking with his favorite dog, Dusty.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and continue on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Big Spring Cemetery in Bloomfield, Kentucky.
