Richard Mulrooney, 67, of Louisville, passed away at home on May 8, 2015. Rick retired from the Louisville Fire Department as a Captain. He was a proud Marine and member of Iroquois American Legion Post 229. Rick was affiliated with St. Paul Catholic Church.
He was born on July 6, 1947, in Louisville to James and Louise Mulrooney. Rick was preceded in death by his father and daughter, Dawn Louise Mulrooney.
Rick is survived by his mother, Louise; children, Nancy Twyman (Duane), Lee Patrick Mulrooney (Stephanie), Danielle Hoagland (Fred III); brothers, Jimmy Mulrooney, III (Barbara) and Mike Mulrooney, Sr.; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). Funeral service Friday at 10:00am at the funeral home with burial to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.
