Richard Leo Eveslage

February 27, 1921 — October 26, 2014

Richard Leo Eveslage, 93, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana died peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 26, 2014. He was a life-long member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and a founding member of the Hoosier Knobs Car Club. He retired from Stewart Mechanical in Louisville and could be described as the "best boiler man" anywhere.

Dick was born on February 27, 1921 to the late Edward and Esther (Hessing) Eveslage. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William and Robert, and a great-grandson, Malachi Lopez.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances (Kiesler) Eveslage; daughter, Jane Byrd
(Randy); sons, James Eveslage (Lynda) and Donald Eveslage (Pam); and brother, Paul Eveslage (Georgia); sisters-in-law, Sylvia and Dolores; grandchildren, Shanda Ross, Aaron Kaiser, Janelle Lopez, Krista Coats, Alisha Kaiser, Tyler, Andrew, Braxton, and Emma Eveslage; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday in the chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
