Richard Lee Banet

November 16, 1951 — April 12, 2015

Richard Lee Banet, 63, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He worked at Hoosier Panel, International Harvester, and retired from Northtech Machinery. Rick loved listening to music and playing the drums. Rick also enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors both hunting and fishing.

He was born on November 16, 1951 in New Albany, Indiana to Raymond "Junie" and Evelyn (Schmidt) Banet. Along with his parents, he is survived by his son, Ashley Banet (Brandy Laswell); sister, Linda Schimidt (James); sister-in-law, Dottie Banet (Michael Seacat); nieces and nephews, Jessica Banet, Alyssa Banet, Tyler Graham, and Kristien Seacat. Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Banet.

Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9 AM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday in the chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
