Richard Jay "Pappy" Callis, 74, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the United States Postal Service. Pappy was an avid UK fan and enjoyed visiting various local bars around Jeffersonville.
He was born on January 5, 1941 in Bedford, Kentucky to the late Jesse Jay and Martha May (Krohn) Callis. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Callis.
Pappy is survived by his children, Richard "Mickey" Callis, Jayme Callis; brothers, Jerry, Mike (Beverly), David (Ginny), Dugan (Patty), Ricky Callis; sisters, Donna Little, Connie Walker; and his first grandchild is on the way.
Cremation was chosen following Pappy's wishes. He will be laid to rest at a later date with his family in Bedford, Kentucky. Contributions in Pappy's memory may be made to his family in care of the funeral home.
