Richard Gaines Hunter

October 21, 1930 — February 15, 2018

Richard Gaines Hunter, age 87 of Simpsonville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Cohn High School in 1949. After serving in the Korean War, he graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Business Administration. He spent the next 37 years in the trucking industry. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy; and his parents, Robert Edward and Mary Louise Shelton Hunter.

Richard is survived by four loving children, Michael Hunter, Jennifer Schultz (Mark), Andrea Schoen and John Hunter; 4 grandchildren, Shannon MacMaster, Dana Grant, Murray Schoen (Rebecca), Allison Schultz; and 1 great-great grandchild, Sophia Grace; his sister, Geraldine Page; 2 nieces, Sharon Hiett (Jim), Janice Estes; and a host of relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Richard and his wife Dorothy will be 2:30pm on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 Dixie Highway, Radcliff, Kentucky 40160.
