Richard Hentchey, a beloved figure, was born on October 29, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 14, 2026. Richard was a man whose kindness radiated throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He had an unparalleled ability to lend a listening ear and offer support, always being there for those in need. His unwavering compassion will be deeply missed by everyone who crossed his path.

Richard has reunited with his cherished loved ones who have gone before him. He is now in the comforting embrace of his wife, Kathy Hentchey, and his parents, Tommie and Winfield Hentchey. Alongside them, he finds solace with his brother, Charles Hentchey, and his sister, Joyce Hentchey. Together, they welcome him into a realm free from pain and sorrow, where love reigns supreme.

He leaves behind a devoted family who will hold onto his memory with gratitude and love. His sisters, Hershel Hockaday, Frankie Posey, and Valma (Dennis) Heard, along with his brothers, Larry (Greg) Hentchey and Claude Hentchey, will forever cherish the laughter, guidance, and warmth he provided. Richard’s legacy continues through his stepdaughter, Lisa Peak, and stepson, Ray Williams, who will remember him for his gentle spirit and endless encouragement.

As we bid farewell to Richard, we do so with heavy hearts and fond memories. We take comfort in knowing that he has embarked on a new journey, guided by the hands of those who have passed on. May he be embraced by love, free from the burdens of this world. Richard Hentchey will be missed more than words can express, but his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.

Please join his family in celebrating Richard's life at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the "lake" in Thurman Hutchins Park (3227 River Road, Louisville, KY 40207).
