October 30, 1964 — February 23, 2022

Richard "Rick" Delepierre, 57, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He was born on October 30, 1964, in Baker City, Oregon to William and Christina (Tarvin) Delepierre. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Dana Lynn (Crider) Delepierre.

Rick is survived by his loving family, Father, William M. Delepierre, Mother, Christina A. Delepierre; Children, Chelsea Rae (Matt) Vincent and Spencer A. (Devon) Delepierre; Granddaughters, Annabelle Delepierre, Maria Delepierre, and Everleigh Delepierre; Siblings, Wesley (Stacy) Delepierre, Duane (Brenda) Delepierre, William Delepierre, Michael Delepierre, and Susan (Aaron) Rhyne, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Rick was a wonderful storyteller and loved to make everyone laugh. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed sharing those activities with his family. He spent many weekends making memories sharing, his love of the great outdoors with his children, nephews, and grandchildren while camping, fishing, and hunting.

He was a great Paw Paw who endured many episodes of Elmo and Micky Mouse Club House for his Granddaughters. He even made-up silly dances to the theme songs to make them laugh. Rick especially enjoyed baking with his Granddaughters and everyone one loved his home cooking.

Rick loved his wife, Dana, who he was married to for 32 years. Though the years they have had many good times and they treasured them all. They were blessed to have each other, the two children they raised to be wonderful adults, and three granddaughters that they adored.

Rick graduated from Union High School, in Union, Oregon in 1983. He met his wife while stationed at Fort Knox for the Army National Guard and shortly after made Kentucky his home. During his career he was most proud of his work as a Union Steward, Union Vice President, and Union President at Chesapeake box plant before it closed in 2001. He worked for many years in the maintenance department at Louisville Metro Parks. He volunteered as Cub Scout Master with Troop 51, where his also helped his son achieve the honor of Eagle Scout.

He has now been reunited with his wife who he missed terribly since her passing. While we will miss him greatly, until we meet again, we will reminisce on all the joy filled occasions that we hold dear to our hearts and be grateful for the time spent together.
