Richard Alan "Doc" Brown, born on October 18, 1956, passed away on December 30, 2025. A man of many talents, Doc was the quintessential jack of all trades, known for his meticulous attention to detail in every task he undertook. His hands were as skilled in electrical wiring as they were in plumbing and mechanics, making him a reliable presence in the lives of those who sought his expertise. As the summer sun blazed overhead, one could find him elbow-deep in an engine, breathing new life into cars and lawn mowers alike, his laughter mingling with the sounds of clanging tools and the hum of machinery.
In addition to his impressive practical skills, Doc had a profound passion for music. A self-taught drummer, he found joy behind the kit, channeling his creative spirit into rhythm and melody that brought people together. Throughout the years, he shared his talent with various bands, allowing his heart to beat in time with the music he loved.
The legacy of Doc's craftsmanship and artistry is etched into the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him. Friends and family gathered in his presence felt the warmth of his spirit, a blend of humor, kindness, and dedication that drew people close.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Brown and Ramona Brown; son, Richard Alan Brown, Jr.; niece, Cherri Hood and great nephew, Alec Hood.
Doc leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Keith (Johnetta) Brown, Timmy (Mandy) Witt and Bradley (Megan) Brown; wife, Tina Lemaster; grandchildren, Cassidy, Keith, Samuel, Jasmine, Joslyn, TJ. Bentley and Sara; great granddaughter, Kelani; sister, Toni (Joe) Hood; nephew, Brian (Amy) Hood and niece, Terri Hood and numerous great nieces, great nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held in his honor on January 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. A celebration of Doc's life will be at 6:00 PM.
