Richard Paul Atkins, 65, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020. Rick was a diehard IU and Colts fan and a self-proclaimed "Trekkie." He was a dog-lover, and his pride and joy were his daughter, granddaughter, and his loving family.
He was born on November 8, 1955, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Carl "Ish" and Margaret (Darneal) Atkins.
Rick is survived by his loving husband and soul mate, Ricky Woods-Atkins; daughter, Emily Atkins; stepdaughter, Jennifer Montgomery; stepson, Greg Montgomery; siblings, Fr. Dan Atkins, Jacqueline Vetter, Tom Atkins, and Carla Patterson; grandchildren, Zoey Quinn, Jacob Montgomery, Arie Harris, Ethan Cochran, Mason Montgomery, and Kaiser Montgomery; and his canine children, Spock and Kirk.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
