Rhoda Joan (Hilbert) Elkins, 83, of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Atmoore, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016. She was a devout Christian and loved spending time with her family. Rhoda retired from Value City in Clarksville after 25 years of employment.

She was born on February 17, 1933 in Danville, Kentucky to the late Jesse C. Hilbert and Corine (Matherly) Brumfield. Rhoda was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Elkins; and children, Rhoda Heather Farrell and Ashley Farrell.

Rhoda is survived by her children, Raymond Semones, Morton Farrell, Stephanie Clauges; sisters, Barbara Howard (Roger), Linda Lowe (fiancé, Donald Brown), Terry Lynn Broady (Doug); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen following Rhoda's wishes. A Memorial Service will take place at 2 PM Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Graceland Baptist Church (3600 Kamer Miller Road, New Albany, IN 47150). She will be laid to rest privately at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Rhoda's memory be made to Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, IN 47150).
