Rebecca Lynn (Rice) Sanders

Rebecca Lynn (Rice) Sanders, 51, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Rebecca loved swimming, tending to her garden, and watching wrestling. She loved her job and the many residents that she cared for every day. Out of all the things she enjoyed in life, her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.

She was born on September 27, 1968, in Louisville, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her mother, Kathie Rice; and adoptive mother, Helena Wells.

Rebecca is survived by her loving children, Ronald (Elizabeth) Sanders, Jr., Christopher Sanders, Justin (Shelby) Sanders, and Sean Sanders; siblings, Teresa Cook, Ronald Wells, Robert Rice, and Howard Rice; grandchildren, Isaac, Gracie, Oliver, Zachariah, Phoenix, Martha Mary-Lynn, Sean, Jr., Nick, and J.J.; her partner in life, Paul Cheatem; and many bonus children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020, at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Rebecca's memory be made to the American Cancer Association.
