Rebecca "Jean" (Mays) Key, 83 passed away peacefully Sunday night, March 25, 2018 She was born on July 10, 1934 in Spottsville, KY to the late Everett Waverly Mays and Ruby Dora (Williams) Mays.
She came from a family of 6 brothers (Leroy, Everett Jr., Buddy, Buck, Tom & Terry), 2 half-brothers (Marvin & Robert) and 3 half-sisters (Jenny Fambrough, Mary Jane Nantz, Janet Cardwell), 2 step-brothers (Bob & Noble Conner) and 3 step-sisters (Della Stinson, Sharon Ritchie & Peggy Bach).
Jean is survived by her husband of 36 years, William Mitchell Key of Glasgow, KY, her 5 children from her previous marriage to Floyd Clayton House of Caneyville, KY; Barry Lee House, Deborah Ann Day (Danny), Loraine Ruby Baguss (John), Ordie Lynn Lookhart (Larry) and Dr. Becky House, PT (Lisa Walls). She has 3 granddaughters (Christy, Sara & Kelly), 2 grandsons (Tony & Shane), and 3 great grandchildren (Aidan, Livie & Moxie).
Jean had a strong belief in God and loved gardening, cardinals and hummingbirds. She will forever be remembered for her loving heart, quick smile and contagious laugh.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
