Rebecca Jean (Simon) Balmer

Rebecca Jean "Becky" (Simon) Balmer, 64, of New Middletown, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle and was an avid animal lover. Becky also liked going to thrift stores and yard sales. The most important thing to Becky was her family and grandchildren.

She was born on February 2, 1957, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late John, Sr., and Wanda (Cook) Simon. Becky was also preceded in death by her siblings, John Simon, Jr., and Peggy Milan.

Becky is survived by her children, Charles "Chuck" Balmer, Jr., and Chanda Balmer; brother, Tony Simon (Millie); grandchildren, Charles Balmer III, Jessica Hardin, Adriana Wood, and Chance Balmer; great-grandson, Bentley Jewell; lifelong friend, Mary Goodale; and companion, Bob Oates.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballad Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
