Ray Sexton

Raymond Lee Sexton, 99, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024. 

He was born on April 27, 1925 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James and Sarah (McKinney) Sexton. He is also preceded in death by his three children, Jon, Cindy and Matt. 

Ray graduated from U of L and was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Midway. He was the owner of Supreme Oil Company and Indiana distributor of Mobil Oil. He was also secretary/treasurer of the Fairgrounds Motor Speedway for many years. 

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Lillian Bitzer Sexton; children, Ellery Sexton, Leigh Bomar (Hal), Suzy Sexton; grandchildren, Bart Best (Lyndsey Neese), Hal C. Bomar (Kelsey), Scott Bomar, Liz Sexton, Jenna and Logan Sexton; great-grandchildren, Lilli and Luke Best, Tucker Ray Sexton; and daughter-in-law, Heather Sexton.
