Raymond Eugene "Gene" Richert, 83, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Gene was a truck driver for Gulf Oil/BP until his retirement. He served over 25 years on the Clarksville Town Council and as a police commissioner.
He was born on November 3, 1938 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Raymond and Evelyn Henderson Richert. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. Richert.
Gene is survived by his sons, Tony (Diane) Richert and Timothy (Chelsea) Richert; brother, Ronald Richert; grandchild, Stacey Richert; and great-grandchild, Keira Sprouse.
Cremation was chosen following Gene's wishes. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
