Raymond E. Oltman, Jr., 78, loving husband, father, grandfather, and an inspiration to all, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014. He retired from Zeon Chemicals in Louisville and was a member of Eastside Christian Church in Jeffersonville. He was a devoted family man that will be missed.
Ray was born on July 23, 1935 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Raymond, Sr. and Eleanor (Lee) Bough. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Artie Phelps.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Pat (Lausman) Oltman; children, Rhonda Schneider (Roger), Mark Oltman (Ruth), Jeff Oltman (Trina); sister, Diana Cornell (Tommy); grandchildren, Steve, Curt Schneider, Jessie, Maddie, Drake Oltman, Brooke Hinkle, Jason Day, and Adam Edwards.
A reception of family and friends will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Private entombment will take place at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Christian Church (2319 Veteran Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
