Raymond "Gene" Davis, 60, of Irvington, Kentucky, formerly of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020. Gene enjoyed collecting things, and was known as the "Junk Man". He would help fix anything and everything, loved fishing, the outdoors, and his dog "Stinker". Gene was a member of the Salvation Army, and worked for Dixie Suburban Fire Department. He loved being around his friends and family, and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help.
He was born on May 29, 1960 in Louisville, Kentucky to Benjamin and Jane Davis. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Marsha Davis, Parents, Sisters, Mary Hawkins, Jettie Davis, Betty Davis-Matthews, and Darlene Davis, Brother, Tommy Davis, and Nephew, Tiny Davis.
Gene is survived by his Sons, Benjamine (Cindy) Davis, and J.T. (Peggy) Hunley, Siblings, Jesse (Carol) Davis, Mable Johnson, Pat Atchley, Myrtle Bland, Jakie Perkins, and PeeWee Atchley, Grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Jeffery Davis, Cheyenne Jones, Janie Mattingly, Zachary Mattingly, and Brianna Wallis. Gene also leaves behind to cherish his memory Brockman Family, Beisler Family, Theresa & Nick Oller, Rosie and Mikey Sasher, Special Friend, Carol Steele, Niece, Donna Davis, and a host of Friends, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Extended Family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
