Raymond Charles Balmer, 88, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday,November 18, 2015 in New Albany, Indiana.
Raymond was born on February 18, 1927 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, to George and Eva(Keibler) Balmer. He attended church at Northside Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana and was a U.S. Army veteran. Raymond worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed playing Euchre and spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings, George and Homer Balmer, Vivian Henshaw. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Helen (Wieseka) Balmer, children; Raymond "Butch" Balmer Jr. (Nancy), Randall "Randy" Balmer (Sue), Marvin Balmer (Donna), Roger Balmer (Lisa), 9 grandchildren; Tony, Tammy, Tara, Josh, Ryan and Kyle, Tyler, Garrett, Morgan, 3 great-grandchildren; Olivia, Eli, and Lilly.
Visitation will be from 12 to 6 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Monday, November 23, 2015 with visitation before from 9-11am. Entombment will follow at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
Memorial donations can be made to the VFW Post 1693 (1919 Grantline Road, New Albany, IN 47150).
