Raymond Louis "Ray" Bezy, 60, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019. As a child he attended St. Mary's Catholic School and went on to attend New Albany High School where he graduated in 1976. During high school Ray played the trumpet and was a member of the marching band. Ray served in the Indiana National Guard and retired from the Sanitation Department for the city of New Albany after 20 years of service. He was an active member of Graceland Baptist Church where he was involved in various volunteer activities that included the choir. Ray had a love for animals, especially his dogs, Sterling, Mario, and Oliver and cats, Winnie, Noodles, Cherry, and Sasha.
He was born on June 26, 1958, in New Albany to the late Raymond and Carolyn (Owen) Bezy.
Ray is survived by his children, Crystal Bezy, Steven "Bradley" Bezy, Nikolas Bezy, and Noah Bezy (fiancée, Linsey Ballard); siblings, Michele Compton (Stephen) and Robert Bezy (Shirley); grandchildren, Randy Riddle, Michaela Riddle, Kali Bezy, Kalvin Bezy, and Waylon Bezy; and great-granddaughter, Sophia Riddle.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 11:00 a.m. His Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens in New Albany.
