Rayburn B. "Pop" Cantrell passed away on December 12, 2014. He retired after 33 years as a Chief Engineer with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Rayburn loved growing his home grown tomatoes and tinkering in his garage while being a devoted husband, father and Pop.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rebecca Cantrell; children, Amy E. Cantrell, Rayburn (Jennifer) Cantrell, Julie Lambert and Allison (Evan) Guldenschuh; honorary daughter, Lori (Sam) Asher; grandchildren, Lana, Austin, Jonathan, Seth, Ethan, Emma, Eva, Kent, Blaine and 1 on the way; 5 sisters, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16, 2014, from 1pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A Celebration of Life for Rayburn will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 10am at Newcomer Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery, Radcliff, KY.
