Ray Berry Wireman, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Born on August 23, 1940, in Fallsburg, Kentucky, Ray was the son of the late O. Ray and Zena (Berry) Wireman. He was raised in Ashland, Kentucky, where he graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1958. Ray carried the warmth of his Eastern Kentucky roots with him throughout his life.
Ray attended Cumberland College and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 1962. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and, after completing Officer Candidate School, served five years of active duty. He continued his service in the Naval Reserve for twenty-four additional years, retiring with the rank of Captain.
Professionally, Ray built a long and successful career in sales, beginning with Haas Cabinet Company in Sellersburg, Indiana, and later with AJ Manufacturing, Inc. in Bloomer, Wisconsin. Midway through his career, he earned his Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Ray had a true gift for connecting with people—he cherished the friendships he made and the places his work took him.
Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Ray will be remembered for his generous heart, quick wit, and love of life. He was an avid reader who delighted in history and music, and his home was never without the joyful presence of a dog or two by his side.
Ray is survived by his devoted daughter, Rebecca Ann Wireman; his cherished grandson, Andrew Robert Lynn, and Andrew’s fiancée, Rachael Lowe.
