Ray Edward Laduke

Ray Edward LaDuke, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Ray was a graduate of Indiana University where he excelled as their baseball team's 2nd baseman. He went on to play for the Mets minor league team, the Quincy Jets, from 1962-1963. Ray was also an avid golfer. He worked for many years as the sports editor and then went on to be the managing editor at the New Albany Tribune.

He was born on August 4, 1940, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Marshall LaDuke, Sr. and Nettie McCurdy. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Marshall LaDuke, Jr. and Herman LaDuke; and daughter in-law, Dora LaDuke.

Ray is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Linda LaDuke; son, Eddie (Renee) LaDuke; son, Casey LaDuke; step-daughter, Cynthia Ball; step-son, Christopher Messmer; sister, Vickie (Phil) Marcum; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
