Randall Paul Elbert, fondly known as Randy, passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on September 8, 1952, in Corydon, Indiana, Randy lived a life filled with joy and laughter. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Loni Elbert, with whom he shared 14 wonderful years of marriage.
Randy was first and foremost a storyteller; his tales often danced on the line between fact and fiction, but that never dampened the joy they brought to those around him. He had an innate ability to be the life of the party, entertaining friends and family alike with his stories and jokes. Randy's passions extended beyond storytelling; he was known for working with his hands and enjoyed building things-a testament to his creativity and skill. In addition to his love for building, Randy loved fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He always cherished moments spent singing karaoke, going dancing, and traveling with Loni.
Along with his wife, Randy is survived by his children, Todd (Samantha) Elbert and Tia Elbert Schlangen; his step-children, Lesley (Becky) Woodall and James (Melinda) Woodall; grandchildren, Alexis, Peyton, Alissa, Aaron Jr., and Nicholas; and siblings, Connie (Don) LaHue, Jim Elbert, Steve (Rhonda) Elbert, Richard (Rena) Elbert, John (Kathy) Elbert, Mary Ann (Rusty) Wells, and Cathy (Roy) McCarty. Each of them carries the imprint of his kindness, humor, and unforgettable storytelling in their hearts.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Lambert Elbert and Vivian Jean Hurst Elbert; and his nephew, Michael A. Elbert; who are now reunited with him.
As we remember Randy, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life filled with love, laughter, and the joyful recounting of stories that will be passed down for generations to come. His spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
