Ralph Delano Hall (87) passed away in his home on June 19th, surrounded by the love of his adoring family. He was a devoted husband, deeply cherished father, grandfather and great grandfather. If you knew him, you were lucky; a man of quiet strength, integrity and strong character, who was sweet, kind, humble, generous, loved and respected by all and enemy to none, who lived out all the Fruits of the Spirit.
He was born on August 20, 1938 to the late Richard Stanton Hall III and Sybil Delano Hall in Louisville, KY. He was the brother to Richard Hall and Karen Burnsed, and preceded in death by his brother, David Hall. Ralph met the love of his life, Judy, while attending DuPont Manual High School. They married shortly afterwards and were together for the next 70 years.
Ralph obtained his BS in Chemical Engineering from the U of L Speed School. Ralph and Judy were UL basketball and football season ticket holders for many years. He was instrumental in launching several successful local companies including Connoisseur Studios, Literature Control Services and Fulfillment Concepts, Inc.
Ralph and Judy supported many philanthropic & charitable organizations including “Living Waters for the World,” Galilean Home Ministries in Liberty, KY, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. They were active members of Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Judith Aline Hall; his three sons, Keith Hall (Nancy), Kevin Hall (Laura Ruth) and Kent Hall (Laura Sue). Ralph will always be their North star. Ralph, also known as Papa, was the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, Albert Keaton Hall-Faul (Madri), Connery Hall (Christina), Kelsey Hallman (Michael), Cullen Hall, Shelby Claire Jordal (Joshua), Kacie Frentz (William), Chloe Hall; Hudson Frentz, Josephine Frentz, Albert Hendrik Hall-Faul, Ashley Hallman, Johan Hall-Faul, Charlotte Hall, Elsie Jordal; and a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, August 20th at the 314 Exchange, 314 Mt Mercy Dr, Pewee Valley, KY 40056 to honor and celebrate his extraordinary life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity or perform an act of kindness for someone else. That would have meant the world to him.
