Priscilla "Jane" Stockdale, 80, of Salem, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022. Priscilla was a member of Graceland Baptist Church and a life-long seamstress. She was a caregiver to everyone who knew her and was incredibly talented with a needle and thread. She was known as "Mamaw" or "Jane" to all who loved her and was the true definition of matriarch to her family. Jane loved country music, going to church, gospel music, camping and boating at the lake, visiting the mountains in Tennessee, eating at Golden Corral, living in the country, and rocking on her front porch. In her recent years, she was nicknamed "the General" after learning how to boss others around when she could no longer get around to show everyone how things were supposed to be done.
She was born on August 10, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Pauline (Kingrey) and G. William Stockdale, Sr. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant brother, G. William Stockdale, Jr.; sisters, Rachel Lee and Linda Sanders; and her good friend and father of her children, Palmer Morgan.
Jane is survived by her loving daughters, Ida (Dallas) Norris, Mary (Dennis) Seewer, and Jeannette Kirk; brother, David (Bonnie) Stockdale; sisters, Betty Jean Demott, Karen Roggenkamp, Brinda (David) Schell, and Judith (Charles) Mudd; grandchildren, Nattasha (Rick, Jr.) Snelling, Shane (Kelsey) Asher, Amanda Dodd, Alicia (Butler) Seewer, Veronica (Korey) Myles, and Damon (Jessica) Seewer; 8 beloved great-grandchildren who were the true light of her life; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
