Phyllis Ann Wolfe, 76, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020. She was an artist by trade, talented in writing, sewing, and painting. Phyllis was active in the Native American community and enjoyed volunteering for numerous organizations, especially those that supported veterans. She and her husband were regular patrons of the Golden Corral in Clarksville, where they developed many close friendships.
She was born on July 31, 1943, in Lucas, Kentucky, to the late Owen and Mary (Hurt) Wolfe. Phyllis was also preceded in death by her brother, Barry Wolfe. She is survived by her husband, David Gentry; as well as many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana.
Phyllis was an animal lover, and the family requests that contributions in her memory be made to the Animal Protection Association (702 E. 11th Street, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
