Phyllis White, aged 77, of Louisville, Kentucky, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished mamaw, and a dear sister and friend, Phyllis was a radiant spirit who touched the lives of many. Her lively personality was infectious, and her words were often filled with wisdom and laughter. Known for her family-first approach, she built her life around love and commitment to those she held dear.
Phyllis dedicated many years of her life caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Anthony's and Parkway Medical Center. Her compassion extended beyond her profession; it was evident in her home, where she delighted in cooking and baking for her family. Her famous pineapple upside-down cakes, hummingbird cakes, and pecan rolls will be lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Family vacations were a cherished time for her, where memories were made and bonds were strengthened.
Born on August 25, 1948, in Manchester, Kentucky, Phyllis was the daughter of Brack and Laura (Reid) Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved mother Laura, her father Brack, and six siblings—five brothers and one sister.
Phyllis leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Frank White, and her three sons, William Fox, Gary (Jennifer) White, and Terry (Annette) White. She was proud of her nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her legacy in their hearts. The love she shared with her extended family and friends will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A visitation will be held to honor Phyllis on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy.
