Phyllis Ann Shively, 70, was born on January 12, 1951, and went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 5, 2021. She was formerly a nurse's assistant in Georgia and Kentucky. Phyllis is a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia. She was a faithful servant of Christ and her personal ministry was to offer love and support to the sick, shut-in's, friends, family and those in need; who were known as her "Peeps".
Phyllis moved to Powder Springs, Georgia in 1985, she was her mother's caretaker for 15 years and worked as a certified nurses' assistant. In 1993 she went to cosmetology school where she graduated as licensed cosmologist. Phyllis later graduated from Chattahoochee Technical College as a graphic artist in 1995. She moved back home to Louisville in 2003, due to her extensive medical issues.
Phyllis was a member of the Red Hatters Society; chapter 82727, the Rockin' Red Hatters and she was known as Lady Mother of Pearl. She enjoyed cooking, known for her Seven-Up cake and numerous other delicious recipes. Phyllis enjoyed watching religious movies, SY-FY Saturday movies and old black and white movies. She enjoyed learning and studying metaphysics. Phyllis had a great sense of humor, playing practical jokes on family and friends. She was a avid listener to all music types and enjoyed dancing.
She was preceded by her husband, Marvin Anthony and parents, Rudolph and Lula Shively.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Darryl Eugene Shively, Marvin La'Monse
Shively and Telly Maurice Shively; brother, James Edward Thomas; sisters, Patricia Ann Matthews, Jacqlin Shively, Ann Shively and Ruenel (Anthony) Dorsey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and peeps.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 2pm-4pm with a celebration of Phyllis's life beginning at 4pm.
