Phyllis Shaw, a beloved Mother, Grandma and Granny, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in Georgetown, Indiana, with her loving family by her side. Born on February 21, 1931, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Phyllis was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School, where her spirited nature began to flourish. She was known for her honesty, loving heart, smart wit and unwavering loyalty to her friends and family. To her family she was known for making every single holiday magical. She went all out for Christmas and even Halloween. She truly enjoyed passing out candy to all of the neighborhood kids and then taking bags of gifts to her great grandkids afterwards. You could expect a handwritten card and gift for every birthday, Valentines Day and even 4th of July. To her friends and cousins, she was known for her wit, shrewdness at card games, bunco and daily walks around the block.

Throughout her life, Phyllis dedicated herself to caring for her family, ensuring that their needs were met with grace and love. Her love language was acts of service and taking care of her people. Her home was always warm and welcoming, filled not only with the aromas of her famous homemade dumplings but also with laughter and precious memories. She cherished every moment spent with her family, whether it was going on cruises, enjoying days out shopping and at the casino, playing cards, or savoring meals at their favorite restaurants. Her last casino trip was with her Beehive girls and she won big, yelling “BIG Winner” and then treating her friends to pizza and ice cream.

Phyllis's pride and joy were evident as she watched her family grow and thrive. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Shaw (Donnie) Ragains; son, Larry (Janet) Shaw; daughter, Sandy Edwards; grandchildren, Staci (Paul) Flispart, Eric (Amy) Edwards, Kelli (T.J. Anderson) Willis, Justin (Rainy) Shaw, Whitney (Manny) Shaw; and fifteen loving great-grandchildren, along with one great-great-grandchild notably named Esther after her own Mother.

She is lovingly remembered as a nurturing and fun woman who touched the lives of those around her. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Shaw; her daughter, Teri Lee Priddy; and her parents, Elmer McLain and Esther McLain.

The visitation will be held on October 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. Following this, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
