Phyllis Jane (Long) duPont, 79, a strong, generous, and caring woman, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016, surrounded by her family and friends. She retired from Child Protective Services for the state of Kentucky after over 25 years of dedicated service.
She was born on May 13, 1937, in Fairdale, Kentucky, to the late William and Inez (Estes) Long. Phyllis was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Ray, and Tommy Long.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Kevin duPont (Lori), Kerry duPont (Bryan Belote), Ginger Smith (David), and Terri Heil (Jeff); siblings, Ronnie, Debbie, Terry, and Gary; grandchildren,Tony Smith (Amanda), Nicholas duPont, Ashley Montgomery (Greg), Pauletta Vance (Justin), and Justin Heil (Bobbi); and 12 great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen following Phyllis' wishes. The family requests that contributions in her memory be made to the Humane Society of Kentucky (241 Steedly Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40214).
