Phyllis J. Crimm, age 84 of Louisville, Kentucky, went home to her heavenly Father on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Phyllis was born in Mifflintown, PA on November 20, 1936 to the late Charles and Erma Raffensperger. She grew up in Gettysburg, PA., where she was an Honor Student in high school and a top scorer on the girls' basketball team and also a cheerleader. Phyllis graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College in 1958, where she also was a cheerleader and active in the Lutheran Student Union. While at Shippensburg College, she met and married the love of her life, Ronald E. Crimm on August 23, 1958 which started a 62 year blessed and loving union. She taught kindergarten in Rose Tree Union School District. She was involved in Bible Study Fellowship, active at Middletown United Methodist Church, past President of Friends of Methodist Children's Home, Emmaus Community and Christian Women's Club. She was Director of Middletown United Methodist Church Pre-school. Phyllis was an avid reader and involved in many book clubs, loved to play bridge and travel. She loved her family so very much.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Ronald E. Crimm; two children, Cynthia J. Anderson (Dale) and Scott F. Crimm (Laurel); five grandchildren, Peter (Sue), Ronald Brent (Katherine), Bethany (Tobey), Tim (Kellie) and Kathryn (Daniel); ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Donald Jay Raffensperger (Leslie) and Harold Myers Raffensperger (Marianna); and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 10:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Middletown United Methodist Church, 11902 Old Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40243, with a celebration of Phyllis' life at 12:30pm. Burial will follow in Middletown Historical Cemetery.
