Philip L. Miller

December 2, 1943 — May 30, 2025

Louisville, Kentucky

Philip (Phil) L. Miller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, with his devoted wife, Kathryn (Kathie) Miller, at his side. He was born on December 2, 1943, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and graduated from both Westmont High School and West Virginia University.

Phil had a distinguished and fulfilling career in the steel industry, contributing his talents to Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., LTV Steel, and Roll Coater Inc. His dedication to his work and passion for sales earned him lifelong friendships and respect from colleagues and clients alike.

A man of deep faith and positivity, Phil demonstrated that mindset is essential to overcoming life's challenges. "Pop" was a doting grandfather who never missed a grandchild's event. Even as he faced the physical trials associated with Inclusion-Body Myositis, he maintained a focus on the well-being of others rather than himself.

Phil was involved in his church community as a long-time member of The Master's Men Choir at Southeast Christian Church. Additionally, he was a dedicated participant in Bible-study groups and enjoyed playing golf at Hurstbourne Country Club, where he formed cherished friendships and memories.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kathie of Louisville, formerly of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; his son, P. Christopher Miller (and wife Lisa) of Springboro, Ohio; his daughter, Karen S. Meyer (and husband Kenyon) of Louisville; and his treasured grandchildren, Lilly Miller, Sydney Meyer, Logan Miller, Laney Miller, Sulli Meyer, Ellie Meyer, and Keenan Meyer. Phil is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Ken Hepner of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Phil was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Mildred Miller, and his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Barbara Miller. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, as he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering faith.

Visitation will be held at Southeast Christian Church, Atrium Chapel in Louisville, Kentucky, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Phil's memory to Blueprint 502
