Philbert John Hinds, 90, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, during Korea and Vietnam.

He was born on March 21, 1929 in Louisville, Kentucky to Samuel and Carrie Hinds. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sisters: Evelyn Hinds Monroe, Emma Louise Hinds-Carter, Mabel Hinds Brown, Lucy Hinds Mitchell, Rosa Hinds Howsey, and Carolyn Hinds Haynes, Brother, Stanley T. Hinds, and his wife, Jacqueline Hinds.

Philbert is survived by his Sons: Duwaine Hale, Philbert D. (Mary) Hinds, Keith Hinds, Kevin (Duke) Hinds, and Curtis (Sharon) Hinds, Daughters: Desiree (Athaleyah) Hinds, Deana Hinds Chandler, and Karen Hinds (Robert) Brookins, Brother, William Adolphus Hinds, Sister, Juanita Hinds Mitchell, former Wife, Dorothy Louise Hinds, 15 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A gathering for his family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 11, at Newcomer Cremations Funeral & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 am, on Monday, August 12, at Highland Presbyterian Church (1011 Cherokee Rd, Louisville, KY 40204) with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.
