Peter "Pete" "Petey" Roderick III was born on July 12, 1968, at Methodist Evangelical Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky to Betty Jean (Williams) and Peter Roderick, Jr. He departed this life on June 10, 2020, at Jewish Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father and his paternal Grandmother Eileen Roderick.
Peter was a member of the 1986 graduating class of Louisville Central High School. He would go on to work at Days Inn, eventually landing a job at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (formerly Louisville Regional Airport Authority). He would ultimately leave this position to spend more time with his family.
At an early age, Peter attended services at Guiding Star Baptist Church. In later years he would worship at Greater Salem Missionary Baptist Church where he became a member.
Peter was a man that made himself known when we walked into the room. With his steadfast confident swagger and charm; that proud stance and that heartfelt laugh, you knew he was present without one single word uttered. Peter was a giving man, a loving man, and a man that would give his last to his family and to ANYONE. He will forever be in our hearts, on our minds, and in our souls. He made a difference and he finished the race.
Peter was loved by many, will be missed by many, and will be forgotten by none. He leaves to mourn his wife, Ursula (Crocker) Roderick; his parents, Betty Jean Roderick and Allen Dale Long Sr.; daughters Tierra Roderick (with Stacy Ellis-Roderick), Devonna (Icces) Crocker and Alana Roderick; son Kannon Roderick; sisters Rejeannia Roderick-Thomas and Meaghan Roderick-Baker; brothers Bryant Williams, Anthony Roderick Sr. and Allen Dale Long Jr.; maternal Grandmother Mattie Dillard as well as a host of family and friends who loved and will miss him dearly.
Rest in love our Son, our Brother, our Husband, and our Father….until we meet again.
