Peter Raymond Buchheit III, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021. Peter was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.
Peter was born on April 27, 1939, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Ada (Steele) and Peter R. Buchheit, Jr.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Boehnlein) Buchheit; children, Kelly McGuffey, Rhonda (Todd) Gray, Peter R. Buchheit IV, Joe Buchheit, Brian Buchheit, and John Buchheit; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Barker; aunt, Edna Deich; and uncle, Jack Steele.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church-New Albany with entombment and military honors to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
