Peggy Jean (Litch) McCauley, 72, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 27, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She retired as a baker for the Thriftway in Georgetown. Peggy loved to read and also enjoyed both gardening and bird watching.
She was born on June 29, 1944 in Corydon, Indiana to the late Charles and Cleo (Brown) Litch. Peggy was also preceded in death by her husband of over 52 years, Thomas "Gerald" McCauley.
Peggy is survived by her children, Julie Walker (Anthony), Melissa Sorrels (William), Susan Blair (Elmer), Dana Mathis (Larry), and Thomas J. McCauley; sisters, JoAnn Royalty, Carol Hanger (Jerry), Patsy Rutherford (Mike), Connie Adams (Jim); 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 PM to 8 PM on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 11 AM. Her Funeral Service will take place at 1 PM on Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Peggy's wishes.
