Pearlene (Schultise) Van Fleet, 85, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. She loved taking care of her family and having her sons by her side.
At an early age, Pearlene and her husband, Raymond, gave their lives to the Lord, and was true to that choice until the end of their days. She was a mother to everyone that came to her door and fed them with food, knowledge and most importantly, love. Pearlene maintained her traditional values and had many hobbies and interests that included cooking, crocheting, sewing and collecting antiques.
She was born on August 5, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to Ernest and Mary (Cundiff) Schultise. Along with he parents, Pearlene was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Van Fleet; brothers, Charles and Ernie Schultise; sister, Dorothy Previtera; and great-grandchild, Karson Bolen.
Pearlene is survived by her sons, Martin, Terry, Todd (Dawn) Van Fleet; grandchildren, Misty (Brian), Terry Jr., Ashley (Richard) Van Fleet, Nick, Sarah Moore, Tara, Jon Van Fleet, John White; ten great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Linda Metcalf (Gary) and Betty Schnieders (Tommy).
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Byrneville Cemetery.
