Pauline Delk, age 67, of Louisville passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Baptist East Hospital after complications from the flu and pneumonia.
She was born on May 17, 1950 to the late Luther Dicken and Vina Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Bill Dicken and James Lee Dicken.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Marvin Delk; daughters, Tammy Lady (Ron), Anna Mudd (David) and Lisa Patterson (Jamie); brothers, Charles Dicken, Don Dicken; sisters Arlene Ploetner (Don), Alfreda Vaughn, Barbara Jean Rudicil; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pauline lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed dancing, music, casino boats and the Kentucky Wildcats. Pauline was a best friend to her husband as well as her daughters, son-in-laws and thought the world of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She kept busy with her family and volunteering at bingo until diabetes would lead her to kidney dialysis. Even with the disease and dialysis, Pauline fought everyday so that she could be there for her family. She said what was on her mind, lived her life the way she wanted and was there for anyone who needed her.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home at 235 Juneau Drive in Louisville from 3:00 PM until the time of the service at 6:00 PM.
A celebration of Pauline's life will take place after the service at 4815 Poplar Level Rd from 7-10PM.
Donations in Pauline's memory should be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
