Paul William Jenkins, a deeply cherished husband, father, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2026, in his hometown of New Albany. Born on September 8, 1981, Paul’s life was a testament to love, loyalty, and adventure, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and humor that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

After attending Jeffersonville High School, Paul continued his education by earning college credits in pursuit of a degree in psychology—a reflection of his keen empathy and desire to understand the human spirit. He was hardworking and dedicated, having spent many years as a forklift operator at J and J Pallet in New Albany, where his honesty and dependability were well respected by colleagues.

Paul’s personality shone brightly in every aspect of his life. Affectionate and loyal, he was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Sherry Jenkins, with whom he shared two wonderful years of marriage and five remarkable years together. He often expressed how every moment spent with Sherry was special, famously saying, “No matter what we are doing, anytime with you is special.” This love was the cornerstone of his life, inspiring all who witnessed their bond.

As a father, Paul was immensely proud of watching his family grow and succeed. He lovingly raised his sons Hunter White, Tyler Crim, and Nick Crim, cherishing every opportunity to support and nurture their dreams. He was also a loving brother to Shannon Smith (Jeff) and Jamie Petri, and a caring uncle to Jacob Smith, Hannah (Aydin) Walker, Mackenzie Petri, Gabriel Petri, Dylan (Olivia) Pope, and Katie Smith. The family circle also included his sister-in-law Holly (Shane) Smith, his father-in-law Dennis Chumley, and mother-in-law Linda Chumley, along with many loving friends and extended family members who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Paul’s adventuresome spirit was evident in his passions. An avid fan of science fiction, he loved immersing himself in the worlds of Dr. Who and Star Trek, finding joy in stories that celebrated exploration and wonder. His passion for travel took him on countless adventures—from exploring the mysterious swamps of Louisiana to standing along breathtaking coastlines, where he watched whales and experienced the thrill of parasailing, all the way to an unforgettable journey in Jamaica. He was a lifelong fan of blackjack and loved the vibrant energy of Las Vegas. Above all, he treasured time with his family and his dogs, finding happiness in life’s simplest and most profound moments.

Though Paul's mother, Susan Jenkins, and father, Walter Lee Jenkins, have preceded him in death, his spirit and values live on vibrantly through his surviving family and the many whose lives he enriched.

The community is invited to honor and celebrate Paul William Jenkins’ life during visitation on April 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and again on April 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane in New Albany (off of Grant Line Rd.).
