Paul Vernon Schleiger, 84, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2015. He was a United States Marine Corp veteran that proudly served his country. Paul was an avid reader of the newspaper and by nature a quiet gentleman that always took everything in.
He was born on November 10, 1930 in Eaton, Ohio to the late Walter and Florence Schleiger. Paul was also preceded in death by his son, Tim Schleiger. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Ruth (Beare) Schleiger; daughter, Lori Scherer (Kent); sister, Kate Teeters; and grandchildren, Brady and Sabrina Knight.
Cremation was chosen following Paul's wishes. He will be laid to rest at a later date with military honors in New Albany National Cemetery. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care.
