Paul Joseph Kiesler, Sr., 96, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church, a life-time member of the American Angus Association, and a 75-year member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1808 of Lanesville. He retired after 27 years of service for the Department of Agriculture and was a former President of the Board of Directors of KABA/Select Sires. Paul was life-time farmer and enjoyed working the family farm alongside his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic minister and lector at his church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who leaves behind a legacy of hard work and devotion to faith.
He was born on June 2, 1925, in Palmyra, Indiana, to the late Charles and Pearl (Brockman) Kiesler. Along with his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his infant brother, Glenn Kiesler; infant granddaughter, Caroline Horn; and siblings, Frances Eveslage, Wilma Ott, and Dale Kiesler.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Naville) Kiesler; children, Phillip (Agnes) Kiesler, Mary (Allan) Horn, Kathryn (Terry) Grant, Paul J. (Anna) Kiesler, Jr., Robert (Elizabeth) Kiesler, and Laura (Benjamin) Lampton; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marvin (Juanita) Kiesler, Jean (Cletus) Dethy, and Martha Cox.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church (7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.
